Armenian and Chinese defense ministries sign cooperation program for 2017

The defense ministries of Armenia and China have signed a cooperation program for 2017, the press service of the Armenian defense ministry said today. A delegation of the Central Military Council of the People's Republic of China, headed by Rear Admiral Guan Yuefei, was on a working visit in Armenia on April 11-14.

The Chinese delegation was received by Armenian defense minister Vigen Sargsyan, who was said to have stressed the importance of expanding cooperation between the two countries. The Chinese delegation was also received by the chief of the general staff of the Armenian armed forces, Lieutenant-General Movses Hakobyan, deputy defense minister David Pakhchanyan and the head of the defense policy department of the ministry Levon Ayvazyan.

During the official meetings, the current state and prospects of the Armenian-Chinese cooperation in the defense sphere, the problems of international and regional security were discussed. Agreements have been reached on expanding cooperation in the defense sphere and implementation of a number of mutually beneficial projects.
