Safe Workplace in the Time of COVID-19: Vital Rules for Business Health
Business health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic is a top priority for employers and employees alike. To keep your workplace safe, it is important to implement the following rules:
Encourage hand washing and sanitizing: Provide employees with hand sanitizer, soap, and paper towels, and encourage them to wash their hands frequently. Place signs near sinks reminding employees to wash their hands and practice good hygiene.
Implement social distancing: Arrange desks, tables, and workspaces to maintain a safe distance between employees. Consider staggering work hours to reduce the number of employees in the workplace at any given time.
Provide personal protective equipment (PPE): Supply employees with masks, face shields, gloves, and other PPE as needed. Ensure that employees know how to properly use and dispose of PPE.
Clean and disinfect frequently: Regularly clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, keyboards, and phones. Provide employees with cleaning supplies, such as wipes and sprays, to keep their own workspaces clean.
Promote symptom monitoring: Encourage employees to stay home if they are feeling unwell and to seek medical attention if necessary. Implement a system for employees to report any symptoms or exposure to COVID-19.
