Presentation of the book "History of Iran" by Professor Vahan Baiburdyan, the first RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Islamic Republic of Iran

His Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador, orientalist, historian, diplomat, professor, and internationalist VahanBayburdyan was born in 1933 in Akhaltsikhe, Georgia, in the family displaced from Bayburd and Karin. Bayburdyan finished his bachelor’s degree at the Yerevan State University, in the faculty of Armenian Philology specialized in Eastern (Iranian) studies. He has continued his postgraduate education in the Oriental institution of the Academy of Sciences of the Soviet Union in Moscow. From 1980 to 1987, was elected as the head of the General History Department at the Khachatur Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University, a vice-rector of scientific work (1987-1992), a rector (1990-1991), as the first ambassador of the Republic of Armenia in the Islamic Republic of Iran (1992–1998), a head of the Iranian department of the Institute of Oriental Study of Armenia (1998-2021), a Chair of the faculty of International Relations and Diplomacy at the Yerevan State University (2000-2008) and a professor of the same faculty(2008-2022).
The scientific researches of Vahan Bayburdyan are mentioned in more than 20 Armenian and international monographs and over 200 articles, which eventually bought him an international recognition.
